Biography
Dr Ngô Anh Thế is Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Hai Phong, and Deputy Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
He has twenty years of experience in infectious and tropical diseases, covering the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of infectious disease. Alongside his clinical work he teaches and conducts research, contributing to the standard of infectious disease care in the region and to the training of health personnel.
His research addresses practical questions in infectious disease: viral hepatitis; HIV and opportunistic infections; the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis; emerging and re-emerging infections; the management and prevention of dengue haemorrhagic fever; and antimicrobial resistance.
He has published 40 papers in medical journals, ten of them in established international journals. His work contributes evidence to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious disease.
